Postby BlueBear » Sun Feb 24, 2008 7:27 am

Hi! I'm new here. I'm a Tucker fan. I want to know if someone traked down the Tucker from Sao Paulo. In what condition is it ? Who owns it ?

P.S. Can someone please send me all the numbers from Tucker Tribune ?

As far as anyone knows, it's still rotting away in Sao Paulo. The onwership is somewhat in dispute last I heard.

If I had the money I would go to Sao Paulo right away. It's a pity that such a rare car will end up in the junk yard.

It was a museum, but the owner died and the estate's been tied up/neglected, ever since. Supposedly, the car's been pretty much stripped, the engine was yanked and used in a boat until it was worn out and scrapped.

I've tried, as have others, to find out information about the car, but haven't had any luck to speak of. What we need is for someone with connections to the club to go down there and investigate.

So people know where it is located, but not who to contact in order to "rescue" it?

Yup. And according to some people I've talked to, it's against Brazilian law for the car to taken out of the country due to it's age. (Though, given the nature of auto theft rings, it's possible that someone could get the car out of there.)

So what is TACA doing regarding this Tucker ? Just wait for the car to rot away. They should be the first to investigate. All it takes is just a two way trip to Sao Paulo. And the guy who took the pics should know where the car is.
So where is the problem ?

There have been many efforts by prospective buyers and current Tucker owners with deep pockets to get more information on this car. If it was as simple as you might think, the car would have been returned to the US and restored 20 years ago.

It it not practical for a not-for-profit, volunteer organization to expend the finances to send a representative to Brazil to investigate the whereabouts of a car that may or may not be there.
